Califia and Hathor are historical travelers, survivors from a distant future, and daughters from the race of women who are now the sole benefactors of a globally post-war Earth. Utilizing inter-dimensional travel, they attempt to correct the historical record by sending women back to experience it first-hand. There was no reason to believe this latest assignment would be different from the dozens before, but that was before things went horribly wrong and Califia found herself alone in the year 2001 AD. Enlisting the aid of three women, Califia embarks on her search for Hathor so that they can return to their own time and preserve their world. However, despite the forces menacing their freedom and their lives, the biggest threat of all is Califia's own heart when she learns that sometimes, you have to span time itself to find love.
"This was the first piece of fiction I ever read by this author, but by no means the last. It instantly hooked me on her work, and I have read everything she has published. I would recommend her style of writing to anyone who is looking not just for an entertaining read, but also to those who aren't afraid to have their views challenged. My only disappointment with "The Promise of Time" is that it just isn't long enough." DGU
"When I found out that Lavender Door was hosting the sale of this book, I had to write a comment. I read it a few years ago, and I urge anyone who loves the subject of time travel to buy a copy. I especially love how the author's social commentary is presented in a way that is so believable, it makes you go hmmm. " BW
