OOPS Sorry, been travelling for a month, well a month yesterday actually, have to check the date to see where I am. Hopefully I fly back towards home today, volcanic ash permitting, the cloud appears to be hovering right over Portugal but with luck we will be able to avoid it, so at present everything is crossed.
Curiously at the moment I am within a few miles of my beloved cyber gf, but despite my protestations, fluttering eyelashes and every other wile or guile I can come up with I have been unable to persuade her to drop the drawbridge, or raise the portcullis, let alone offer me the key to her chastity belt.
Ah well better luck next time, I shall fly home (hopefully) a little sad that we haven't met yet, exquisitely happy that such things do not mar our relationship, and of course it will be lovely to be home with my dog, my friends and the reliability of my own internet connection.
Back again soon, will try to do better, no shortage of ideas, just the time to get them typed. |

Well another week and am still waiting for a flight, but at least I have a ticket for tomorrow. After finally losing my patience with the airline and saying, no, waiting another week for a seat on airplane was not an acceptable option, and that if they could not make a place available for me tomorrow it was going to cost them considerably more.
Still as the old saw goes it's an ill wind, and I have spent an unexpectedly pleasant week with my brother and his wife, who took pity on me when I found I was stranded at Gatwick Airport last Saturday night.
Admittedly I had to endure a rather tedious train journey not exactly enhanced by the company of two politely drunk males, both of whom were entirely solicitous but proceeded to bore the pants off me by talking about football and rugby, subjects with which I have less interest than a woodlouse might have in climbing Everest.
Well tomorrow is the day, one long flight and I am nearly home, and perhaps may be able at last to get back into some sort of routine, oh have finally abandoned Microsoft Office for Open Office and am quite impressed.
Hopefully a progress report from home on Monday |
